Today, we feature KXCI DJ Ernesto Portillo, Jr. interviewing Lila Downs, ahead of her Monday, August 25th Rialto Theatre Performance. Portillo spoke with Lila Downs by phone in July. Lila Downs is touring on her most recent album Raiz, which is a collaboration with Argentine folk/pop singer Soledad and Spanish flamenco singer Niña Pastori. The music focuses on the influence of Andalucian rhythms, on the music of México and Argentina. This interview was broadcast on 30 Minutes on August 24th and The Home Stretch on August 25th.
