30 Minutes features a panel discussion entitled ART, RESISTANCE, & SURVIVAL from the 2018 Tucson Festival of Books held at the Social and Behavioral Sciences tent. Playwright and performance artist Virginia “Vickie” Grise joins poet Vickie Vértiz for a dynamic discussion on resistance and survival—both on the personal, day-to-day, level and in a broader sense as individuals situated within systems and cultures of oppression. Moderated by UA Assistant Professor of Mexican American Studies Michelle Téllez. This session was sponsored by the UA Institute for LGBT Studies. This is part 1 of a 2 part series.
