Show Notes

Today on 30 Minutes we’ll hear remarks made at the 2018 Tucson Festival of Books at the Nuestras Raices stage, which was curated by the Pima County Public Library. The panel was entitled Radical Hope: Letters of Love and Dissent in Dangerous Times. Editor Carolina De Robertis was the book editor and she was joined by two of the contributors Celeste Ng and Luis Alberto Urrea. Ernesto Portillo, Jr. of the Arizona Daily Star and La Estrella de Tucson moderated the panel.

Radical Hope is a collection of letters to ancestors, to children five generations from now, to strangers in grocery lines, to any and all who feel weary and discouraged–written by award-winning novelists, poets, political thinkers, and activists. Provocative and inspiring, Radical Hope offers readers a kaleidoscopic view of the love and courage needed to navigate this time of upheaval, uncertainty, and fear. This is part 2 of a 2 part series. You can find part 1 here.

Recorded and produced by Amanda Shauger
