30 Minutes features a session from the 2019 Festival of Books curated by Pima County Public Library’s Nuestras Raices program entitled Fuerza and was centered on strong women of color characters. KXCI’s Elva De La Torre interviewed authors Ron Querry and Luis Alberto Urrea.
Ron Querry’s riveting book The Death of Bernadette Lefthand has been re-issued, 25 years after its publication. Querry (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma) and Luis Alberto Urrea (Into the Beautiful North, The Hummingbird’s Daughter) will discuss their signature works and the strong female characters in their stories.
